Staying Motivated and fit this season
We all set goals for ourselves and want to have the
results now right?....at least I know that's how I am.
But I found a new way of looking at things......Is
the weight loss goal I have set for myself realistic???
If you set an unrealistic goal, for instance, I
want to lose 20lbs in one week, the likelihood of that happening is probably
not to good.....then we get discouraged and we loose motivation! I am the queen
of this.....Now, what I have been doing is thinking realistic goals.......like,
I want to lose 2-3 pounds this week and if I lose more that's just a bonus! It
really helps me stay motivated!
Another tip I found useful was....don't push too
hard when you just start out with a routine at the gym! Start with a manageable
routine and then as your strength and stamina increase, add more time, weight
and reps. You don't need to be a hero, your goal is to get in shape and you
will end up a hero in the end if you do things to keep yourself motivated!
And the one I have the most trouble with is
.......don't obsess about what the scale says! I was actually weighing myself
every single day, sometimes multiple times! This does nothing but discourage!
Pick one day and weigh in weekly or even don't weigh in at all! I know it
sounds crazy but I have personally been off the scale and just going on how my
clothes fit....and I must say I am seeing more results and I am definitely much
happier and more motivated!
One more tip that is my favorite and has really
made getting in shape fun.....find a workout partner! Setting goals and making
them happen is much easier if you have a friend to do it with....you can hold
each other accountable and motivated, plus its a ton of fun!
Of course you need to find what works best for you.
I hope you enjoy these little tips that have helped motivate me in my fitness
journey!
Until later.....keep trying and stay fit!
Love Much, Live Well
Michelle xoxo
