My Worst Nightmare!

First I would like to apologize for the brief un announced hiatus. I will post about all that at a later date.

Right now I would like to talk about the terrifying yet memorable day and night we all just had here in our home.

Let me start by saying that we just welcomed a new house guest, Grammy!  Yes, my mom now lives with us and I think it's for the foreseeable future. This is going to be an adjustment for all of us but we welcome her with open arms! We LOVE Grammy!

Now let me move on to the events of the day, and night. It's really not a long story, when being told. Going threw it, well that seemed like an eternity.

It all started with a tornado "watch" in our neck of the woods. Now trying to stay calm and have a positive outlook on things, I keep telling myself, and everyone else I came in contact with, this is no big deal!
After all, this is just a "watch" and we don't get that weather where we live! Right?

Well, of course anything is possible but not here. At least thats what I like to believe, in LaLa land.
That's a little place I like to visit sometimes.

So I get the kids from school, in a search for comfort food, trying to keep my mind busy so I don't have to think about the grim weather forecast, we got an ice cream. We even ate there, until it started to get  a little grey out.

Hmmm, a storm is coming! Better head home. As we walk through the door, Grammy has the news on and it's not good.

Shortly there after, My mom, the boys and I, headed down to the basement because that is where the news told us to go. The "watch " was now a " warning ! "

To top things off, my husband is no where near home! I have to be the rock! I have to keep everyone calm!

As this is all going on, My cell phone kept getting updates. The severe weather warnings, thunder storms and Tornados, kept coming and coming and coming! It seemed endless as my family and two dogs were hunkered down in our basement, to scared to come out.

Eventually I lost TV, and internet so we were clueless about the fury outside. My husband had been texting me, thank GOD for technology! Eventually, though, his cell phone died!

I just wanted this to end and I wanted my husband home!

So slowly, very slowly, the storms started to move and brake off. The watches and warnings were lifted.

The kids are now fast asleep, there is no more storms in the forecast, and we are all alive, safe and I don't think there is any damage to our home. We are so blessed. I am so grateful!

Unfortunately, there were some parts of the state that had devastating damage and even loss of life.
It is amazing, the fury of mother nature. She is a force to be reckoned with!

The part that made this hardest was the fact that, my whole life, I have been terrified of Tornados!
It's actually my WORST fear! I even have night mares about them!

What a day and night! Makes you think.

Love Much, Live Well,
             Michelle xoxo
