Coffee Shop Mishap

I have been wanting to write this post for quite some time now, but I always seem to have a change of heart. I always seem to forgive and forget, pretty quickly.

I am NOT one to complain or trash talk. Anyone who knows me will tell you, I won't even send back a meal if its wrong at a restaurant, unless it is unbearable or would cause harm to a family member or myself.

I just don't like to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Choose your battles , etc., etc., etc.

What changed my mind about today? What was different? When my egg allergic child almost ate an egg, and after thinking about it all day, it's still bugging me!

So, here is my Dunkin Dilemma. Let me give you a little bit of my history with this one particular Dunkin Donuts.

Anyone who lives in my area, I am sure you know which one I am talking about.

This one particular location, has messed up more orders, given wrong change, double charged on credit cards, horrible customer service ( I mean rudeness, eye rolling, sarcastic, just plain awful service).

I have been going to this one Dunkin for 6 years now. Every day I order the exact same coffee but for some reason, it is always either the wrong size, or color or flavor!

But like the patient person that I am, I just take it and drink it, most of the time. Some times I do actually ask them to remake it and hope it comes back right.

Sometimes I also order a bagel sandwich or wake up wrap for my youngest. (He is the one with food allergies, but that's a whole different post).

Like I said I have been ordering his food with NO egg for six years, and I always tell them why I don't want egg, just to be clear!

Sometimes they get it right but most of the time, I have to go back and have it remade.

I don't understand how this happens ALL the time. How do you consistently get an order wrong, especially when they repeat it back to you, and then, when you go to pay they ask you what your order was so you have to reorder all over again, and then you pay and STILL get the wrong order!

So this morning was pretty bad. I ordered my coffee, which was wrong, my son's egg free breakfast which was wrong, and my other son's breakfast which was wrong!!!!! This is all after, hearing them repeat the order. Then of course I had to re-tell the order to the cashier. Then, because I went to the drive threw, thinking it was a quicker option this particular morning, I had to pull around the corner of the building and wait for 10 more minutes, because the order wasn't ready quick enough!!!!

I do have to say that at least the manager was understanding about my situation when I walked in and told her what had happened. She gave me my money back and then gave us extra food! Maybe there is hope for this place yet!

Unfortunately there aren't too many options when it comes too coffee in my area, so this is why they continue to get my business.

Maybe I should just make my coffee at home and I will save money too! Win, win! Right?
