The Little Things

Sometimes its the little things in life that make a difference.........
Like watching your kids do the things that you used to enjoy doing. We(my Husband, the boys and I) went ice skating with a bunch of our friends Saturday night.....so much fun! I must admit I was a little nervous because I haven't been on skates since high school!
My wonderful husband reassured me "its just like riding a bike".
"oh great" I say with enthusiasm. Now I am excited to get going....the kids were so happy that I was going to be skating with them and told me they will teach me if I need help. So cute.....seeing that they had only been skating one other time....ever!
So we get ready, jump in the car and start driving.....we are all happy listening to music and singing. (one of the little things that makes me extremely happy is listening to my boys sing, and they both actually have good voices!)
Now we arrive at the rink and I don't know who is more excited to skate, me or the kids! We get our skates on and I watch them for a minute, no fear just jump on the ice and go(holding on to the side of course) but still just went right out......then my husband gets on the ice......now this is also one of the little things, watching my family having a blast, together, doing something that I have fond memories of as a child.
So now I, thinking I am still in high school, just jump on the ice......Hmmm, not like riding a bike!!!! I to have to hold on to the side!!! How can this be? I used to skate really well.....but I am glad to say it did slowly(very slowly) start to come back to me, and as for my boys, they were on their own doing great by the time we were ready to leave....and my husband, well, he is just always great at everything he does, plus he was a hockey player......
Well I guess what it comes down to is that it didn't matter what I looked like or if I was good or not because the joy that I got just being together with friends and family, watching my husband and my boys enjoy themselves and watching the boys learn to do something that the will be able to enjoy for a life time..............well that is one of the many little things in life that makes it all worth it!
So don't forget to enjoy every moment no matter how little it seems because all that love and joy that you will feel will ensure that you have a happy life!
Love Much, Live Well,
Michelle

So happy you had a good time. I agree sometimes in the business of life we forget how much fun the little things are when we are doing them with our family!
