Dream Vacation

Recently my family and I went to Florida for a much needed vacation. I figured the middle of winter......all four of us had the winter blues, cabin fever for sure! Sunny Florida is definately going to cure that right? We are going to have a wonderful family vacation....and come back refreshed and feeling fantastic! At least thats what I thought.......but do you want to hear what actually happened????
Well hear it is....the morning we are leaving I get a phone call from the phone company that our cell phones are going to get shut off....it seems I had made a mistake and paid the house phone instead of the cell phone......all though I am glad this happened before I left, so I could fix it...I should have know it was a sign of things to come!
So we get to the airport and things are great, we board the plane and start to fly. Now I need to add, this is the first time the boys are flying. They have heard all kinds of stories about their ears popping....so they are a little nervous. Being the comforting mother that I am, I tell them we will just chew some gum and your ears won't pop!
Well my youngest was fine but before I knew it my older son was in tears!!! His ears hurt so bad, for most of the flight and by the time we landed they still hurt!!!!
Next my dad picks us up at the airport and we had about an hour long drive to get to my parents house, where we were staying for a couple of days. My kids were crankie, tired and whining the whole way....but we were glad to see Grammpy and it was so warm out!
When we finally get to the house I felt so relieved and the kids started to feel better(thank goodness!). So Grammy made us a quick bite to eat and we headed to bed......thinking a good nights sleep will do wonders for all of us!
Until.......about 10pm....my youngest calls "mamma! I don't feel good"
Let the puking begin!!!!!!! He threw up every hour until 8am the next morning!!!!UUGGGHHH!
So the next day, he slowly came back to himself and was good by that night.......Great, we will be fine I thought, until....that night when my oldest called in the middle of the night! "mamma! I don't feel good!"
Yup you guessed it.....puking ALL night!!!!!!
Ok this is getting a little rediculous....this is vacation.....we are suppose to be relaxing! The worst part is that we are suppose to go to Disney the next morning.....didn't happen!
Disney resort was so nice, and let me change my reservation.
So great news! After that we were all good and headed to Disney the next day! Finally .....we checked in at the hotel, got settled and headed straight to Epcot! We had a FANTASTIC day!!!!! Even stayed to see the amazing fireworks at the closing of the park.......and as we were leaving my youngest son looks up at me and says "Mommy, Disney really is the happiest place on earth!!!" (my heart absolutely melted!) That was definately one of those little moments that I talk about, ultimate happiness to see my family so happy!!!!!!
So all is good right? We get back to the room and have a plan to go to the Magic Kingdom in the am........we go to bed, only to be woken up by the aweful sound of my poor husband throwing up!!!!!!
Oh my God would this ever stop???? So anyways come morning, he was still sick but keeping things down at least.....he is a tough guy and he was going to the Magic Kingdom today no matter what!!! We were just going to take it slow....the boys wanted to go get breakfast so my brave husband sucked it up and took them to eat......I was just making sure we were all set for the day and I would meet them there......and I would have met them there except for ........well I am sure by now you can guess.
Yup, when the men got back to the room.......I was hanging my head over the toilet and well, you know..........
So seeing that I was bed ridden, my husband,my hero, took his boys to the Magic Kingdom all by himself! Holding back the sickness on every spinny, bumpy, fast ride!!!!!!!! What a guy huh? We are so lucky to have him for a husband and a dad!!!!
So needless to say we cut our Disney stay short and went back to the comfort of my parents house for the rest of our refreshing vacation in sunny Florida!!!
I swear, I couldn't make up some of the stuff that happens to us......but even though it seems like a vacation from hell......those few precious moments that we did have, together as a family were all worth it!
When you have that much love in your life....I don't think things can really be bad.......if we just concentrate on the good things you have no choice but to be happy!
Remember to Love much, Live well
